Mitt Romney v.s Barack Obama

I agree with Shania in that election speeches are a very hard task. It seems that in order to win an election you have to have a good plan and a great campaign, but more importantly you have to be able to sell yourself and persuade the voters that you’re more likeable than the competition. In my view, voters lose interest and seem to be drawn to who is more relatable. This is why I believe that whoever has the biggest smile and a silver tongue wins the election.

After watching Romney’s concession speech it has become obvious that despite the hatred toward Romney, Mitt seems to be humble and he even wishes luck to the President. It does seem customary to thank the people who contributed to his campaign but I do not believe that Romney was being sarcastic in any way. He had a good campaign and he deserves a decent amount of respect. Also during the first Presidential debate, Mitt really hits it out of the park and that is hard to do against Obama.

Obama from the beginning was clear to me to become the winner of the election. Barack is very likeable and his public speaking skills are remarkable. Obamas acceptance speech was very moving and effective in ending the election on a good note. Not only does Obama thank America for voting but more importantly, Obama told Americans that whether they had voted for him or not he had 'listened and learned’ and specified that the ‘best was yet to come’.
